The Astro Robin is a machine piloted by Jack Levin / his Anime Universe counterpart.

In the Main Universe, it was designed by a famous and veteran F-Zero racing team known as Team Lightning Bolt, who were part of F-Zero's old guard.

In the Anime Universe, it was apparently designed by Dr. Clash's Anime Universe counterpart.

F-Zero X[]

The Astro Robin is an unlockable machine, piloted by Jack Levin.

F-Zero GX[]

F-Zero GX Complete Guidebook (JP)
Astro Robin (JP): F-ZERO
Astro Robin (English Translation by Sidier): An F-Zero machine by the Team Lightning Bolt, a famous and veteran F-Zero team. It's made lightweight for Jack, who wanted it feel speed like that of lightning when driving. Its high pilot ability is its main trait. To appeal to Jack's female fans, a lot of internal cameras were put within it, more than anyone else. This way, he can be seen from several angles.
Nintendo Power F-Zero GX Player's Guide
The Astro Robin was manufactured by Team Lightning Bolt, an extremely famous team that makes up part of F-Zero's old guard. Its high-tech lightweight design was implemented to match its pilot's "lightning" method of racing, and it has extremely advanced control components. In order to satisfy Jack Levin's huge female fan base, the team installed many micro-cameras throughout the cockpit that broadcast Jack from all different angles during the races.

Note: Sometimes, the F-Zero GX Player's Guide information will be odd / inconsistent / have additional information that is not supported by any other official/canon source of F-Zero information.

F-Zero GX in-game CARDT data
This machine was built by the famous old racing team "Team Lightning Volt", As Jack is willing to drive like a lightning, the machine is very light, and it's easy to control. Since he has a lot of female fans, there are few live cameras in his cockpit so they can watch him drive during the race.

Note: CARDT data refers to the data displayed for machines primarily for F-Zero AX, though they are also within the F-Zero GX game files. The information is presented in English, but they appear to be broken English translations or not correctly translated in some cases. "Team Lightning Volt" is most likely supposed to be rendered as "Team Lightning Bolt."

Anime Universe[]

This section pertains only to the F-Zero Legend of Falcon anime and its related content, which all take place in a separate universe unrelated to Mainverse F-Zero. Names and some elements are only borrowed, but are not the same characters, locations, timeline, etc as Mainverse.

In the Anime Universe, the Astro Robin is piloted by the Anime Universe Jack Levin.

F-Zero Farukon Densetsu (Anime)[]

Lap05AstroRobinRepaint

The hijacked Astro Robin in Lap 5.

The Astro Robin appears in the anime, piloted by Jack Levin. However, during Lap 5 - Brilliant Trap, Lisa Brilliant hijacked the machine after taking Jack's maglet. She then entered the Grand Prix with the machine painted in a pink coloration, with some hearts, flowers, and lipstick decals. Jack eventually got it back within the same episode, with the help of Ryu Suzaku and Dr. Stewart. Afterwards, the machine's appearance was restored.

Even by the 2207 epilogue, Jack still uses this machine.

F-Zero GP Legend (GBA game)[]

The Astro Robin is an unlockable machine.

F-Zero GP Legend Manual
(US): Its boost capabilities are somewhat lacking, but its body and grip characteristics are exceptional. Depending on the course, it can apply serious pressure on the Dragon Bird. However, Jack himself is a very temperamental driver and is therefore prone to making mistakes.
(PAL): A little low on booster power, but its body and grip characteristics are excellent, and so on circuits it can even outdo the Dragon Bird. But as Jack himself is a bit of an oddball, he often makes mistakes -- so it seldom makes it home first.

F-Zero Climax[]

F-Zero Climax
Astro Robin (JP):

Astro Robin (English Translation): Dr. Clash took Jack's favorite machine from his gang days and modified it for the F-Zero, making it a machine with excellent grip that he could control like a limb. A large number of girls' addresses are entered into the machine's auto-navigation system.

Note: The F-Zero Climax English fan translation patch assumes there was an F-Zero crash that prompted the remodeling of Jack's machine. However, it is most likely referring to Dr. Clash, who then remodeled Jack's machine to be suitable for F-Zero. There is still some fault with the context of either rendition, as Jack's Shinigami persona in the flashbacks of Lap 37 depicted him with a hoverbike (that eventually exploded) as his main mode of transportation.

Trivia[]

Main Universe:

  • The SS-C503-LV engines used by the Astro Robin are likely modded from an engine model that Team Shooting Star previously produced. The LV at the end is likely a reference to Jack's last name "Levin." Why Team Lightning Bolt would use an engine from a presumed rival team is unclear, though by the time of F-Zero X, Team Shooting Star would have already disbanded.
